Welcome To Kindergarten Explorers!
We spent the week getting to know one another and having a lot of fun. The week went way too quickly! We hope all the Explorers came home with many fun stories to share
We begin each day greeting one another. This is a perfect time to learn each others names. Finding out who is in our learning community is so fun and important. We also have been practicing writing out name with capital and lowercase letters. We have enjoyed many guided discovery opportunities with crayons, BINGO dabbers, stickers and pencils as we create our names.
Did you know you have an INVISIBLE BUCKET over your head?
We found our buckets and saw that our friends have one too. When we are having a good day, saying nice things and feeling well, our buckets are full. When we are upset and not feeling well our buckets are empty. We learned that we can fill each others buckets by being CARING (A Learner Profile) and doing kind things. We also discovered our actions, if not caring, can dip out of someone's bucket. Our school is full with an amazing Bucket Fillers!!
Healthy Snacks and Lunches
Thank you for sending in such healthy snacks and lunches to our school. The children have had lots of fun reading your caring notes tucked in their lunch boxes as well. Their Buckets sure are full!
Ni Hao
Mandarin classes started this week. We learned how to say hello, introduce ourselves and sing Happy Birthday!
On Friday we sent home our first homework assignment. This project is part of our Unit of Inquiry, Who We Are. Please return it on Tuesday. We will choose an Explorer each day to share their bag with the class. This will be a very exciting part of our day.
Extra Information:
* Thank you for your patience at dismissal. We are still in the problem solving mode, and will work diligently to see it running more smoothly and quickly.
