Kindergarten Fun!

It feels like we were just sitting in the Lecture Hall meeting all the families, and somehow now we have finished our 7th full day of school.  We have used this time to make a lot of new friends, practice routines and establish our Essential Agreements.  Take a picture tour of our last two weeks:

Our playground is a great place to explore, be COURAGEOUS, make music and create fun games with our new friends:

THINKERS
In our classrooms we have been working on our names (writing with only one capital letter), following directions and enjoying our Inquiry Stations:

We are remarkable COMMUNICATORS!
At CIS we learn TWO new languages!  Mandarin and "Giraffe."

Li Laoshi is our wonderful Mandarin teacher!  We loved our first class and have enjoyed practicing what we have learned already.

At CIS we speak "Giraffe" too!

Giraffe is our way to remind students to use their I Messages when they feel upset.  Giraffes have a long neck to remind us to stick our neck out for our friends and their enormous heart reminds us to always show our caring nature.  Ask your child to show you how well they speak Giraffe.

Our Own Air Show

The Blue Angels were a lot of fun this week too and added a lot of excitement to our day.  Their tricks were fascinating and we were lucky to have such a wonderful view.

We journaled about what we saw too.

Basketball Jones
Autographing a ball while spinning another on a pen!

Basketball Jones came on Friday for our first assembly.  He did a lot of amazing tricks, helped us do some too and spoke to us about commitment and the power of our choices (Good choice, bad choice, either way it is MY choice).

We need your HELP!
Kindergarten has been given a garden plot located on the playground.  We would like to plant something this week, that would grow through the fall.  We would love your suggestions and any assistance you are willing to provide.

Upcoming Events:
September 9- EARLY DISMISSAL 11:20am
September 9- Curriculum Night 6:00 pm
